CMMS Software For Chemical Factory Maintenance

BACKGROUND

Our customer who is a leading pesticide chemical manufacturer in Asia was using excel sheet to manage breakdown and day to day PM schedules wanted to streamline entire maintenance process using CMMS software.  


CHALLENGE

In general chemical industry comprised of multiple segments with diverse and complex producction operations, which makes conventional Excel sheet maintenance approch challenging. As a small manufacturer with limited skilled maintenance engineer on hand they needed to effectively centralize their mainteannce knowledge, improve maintenance work flow at best possible cost.


SOLUTION & IMPLEMENTATION ADVANTAGES

While selecting a CMMS software they wanted to have minium dependence on thier interal IT resources and wanted a stand alone system in the cloud which is available 24x7, being a small manufacturer had financial constraint to spend on training, were looking for CMMS software which was simple and easy to use with adequate documentation so their maintenance team can adapt easly.

Key featurs in CMMS would be Comprehensive Asset Intelligence, Simple easy to use UI/UX, features which would allow them to have effective preventive maintenance, and finally managing spare parts inventory so the maintenance team is never low in critical spare parts, being a chemical manufacturer they cannot compromise of safety of operation.

EZmaintain CMMS provides all these as standard features with capablity to expand to new features as and when required, like Calibration Module, Maintenance cost calulator.  The cloud base CMMS allowed maintenacne teams to collebrate and exchange communication in meaningful way.  While creating any machine breakdown work orders the manufacturing team could easily attach pictures of leak valve, this allowed visial communication with text description.  The maintenance team could have better understanding of the situation and when the repair task was taken the team landed with all essential tools and spare parts.

Six month down the road the utilization of the CMMS tool was almost 100% for all breakdown work orders, preventive maintenance scheduling, spare parts management, and getting KPI via digital dashboard.
